thoughts of being alive
I know that I am alive because I am typing this response. Just kidding! How can such a simple question be so complex? I am breathing, and I have all of my senses. I think? I am able to adapt to different situations. If it is cold I'll put on a jacket. If it is hot I will wear shorts to keep cool. I guess the feelings of emotions remind us that we are alive. The obvious answer is I am an organisim living in a large ecosytem and have cells and I am able to reproduce. I know these are probably not the scientific terms that your looking for but I think these are some of the basics that tell us that we are alive.

Yes, I definately agree that there is a cause and effect to every living thing. It can be either negative or positive (just like protons and electrons). Our emotions are reactions to our feelings, just like you said. My responding to your post isn't just for a grade; It's also a response to your idea. I think I've probably made my point. thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat answer. I think you really hit it right on the nose! I really define being alive as simply breathing. All our senses help us but are not the sole reason to determine if we are alive whereas breathing is.
ReplyDeleteLife is also shared by things that don't breathe. Bacteria don't breathe and are alive. Life can also be a philosophical question too...
ReplyDeleteNice thoughts! The point of writing the response was funny :) You made some great points about cells adapting and emotions experienced in life.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Adaption is crucial to living. That and the cells are good examples.
